November has been sunny and warm in the mountains. Great for biking, hiking and climbing, not so good for skiing. Snow is just starting to arrive but the amounts the conditions are still up in the air. That is why we’ve decided to cancel the BigLePowSki in St. Anton. The reasons beeing:

  • The BigLePowSki is a freeride festival. We want good freeriding conditions.
  • Even if it is snowing the avalanche situation is not to be underestimated. The snowpack is poorly bound to the ground.
  • The snowpack can be very thin in places which could lead to injuries

We’re disappointed not shred with everyone that signed up for the event, the interest and registrations have been beyond what we had expected and hoped for but these go/no-go decisions are also part of being out in the backcountry. Safety first!

Thank you for your understanding. and we would very much love to see you at one of other BigLePowSki tour stops.
